On March 9, 2010, a complaint was filed against the School District with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, alleging employment discrimination on the basis of race, specifically in the hiring of school-based administrators, teachers and other non-instructional personnel.  OCR recommends a Voluntary Resolution Agreement based on their review of the matter.  Approval of the Voluntary Agreement, along with implementation of the terms, will resolve the complaint.  The Voluntary Agreement does not constitute an admission of wrongdoing or liability by the School District pursuant to any federal laws, including Title VI.
